Australian Centre for Photography Students Exhibition

Earlier this year I did a photography course at the Australian Centre for Photography. We all had the opportunity to submit a photo we had taken during or since participating in the course. A small number of the submissions are printed whilst the rest are on display on a rotating digital screen. Little bit excited that my image above has been selected to be printed so will be hanging in the gallery at the exhibition from 22nd – 25th November 2012.  YAY!! 🙂

Lost Lake – Whistler
Even on a dull day the Lost Lake still sparkles. Escape to the serenity and enjoy a day relaxing on the beach or take an easy stroll around the lake.  For the more adventurous there is an abundance of hiking and biking trails in the surrounding Lost Lake park that will keep you busy for the day. Whistler
Despite the fact that the Whistler Blackcombe Peak 2 Peak gondola is advertised as a year round activity – it is infact closed for month of October to prepare for the Winter season. But rest assured all is not lost, book onto a 4WD adventure jeep tour that will take you to the summit of Blackcombe mountain so you can suck in the views. Better still since this is the only way up the mountain at this time of year it will be all yours! Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

Mount Robson
The second highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies at 3954m is only completely cloud free for about 12-15 days of the year. This rare shot of an almost cloud free mountain was taken from ‘The Canadian’ Via rail train from Jasper to Vancouver.  Once again I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the Canadian people – when the train supervisor saw me trying to take a photo through the window, he promptly escorted me up the train, un-barricaded the door and opened the top half so I could have an uninterrupted view. Athabasca Falls – Icefields Parkway
The Icefields Parkway 230km stretch of highway through the world heritage listed landscape is considered the most beautiful in the world. The Athabasca Falls just 30km from Jasper should definitely be included in your scheduled stops.  About 200m around the corner from where the falls cascade over you’ll find this gorgeous canyon and potholes carved into the landscape over the years by the gushing falls.  Athabasca Falls, Alberta, Canada.
